A Nigerian musician has been arrested by the police, at Ajao Estate, Lagos, for allegedly assaulting his wife's sister.
The musician, Ayodele Ashiedu, was alleged to have hit Anthonia Ikeh with a plank and injured her left hand. P.M.News gathered that the accused has been having a running battle with Amanda, one of his wives, over the decision to send their only child to his mother in their village, in Delta state.
This decision did not go down well with the wife and she relocated to 28, Awoniyi Elemo Street, Ajao Estate, Isolo, where her sister visited her. P.M.News gathered that the suspect did not like the visit and demanded that she should pack out of the house, but the victim refused.
An argument was said to have ensued during which the accused hit her with a plank and seized her bags containing money. The matter was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested and charged to the Ejigbo Magistrate's Court, for assault.
The offence is punishable under sections 249 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap.32, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with a surety.
